CollaborativeInnovation CenterForEfficient Water Usein Agriculture(hereinafter referred to as the “Center”) was established in 2012, jointly lead by Northwest A&F University, China Agricultural University and Wuhan University, with a mission to improveefficient water use in agriculture. The center is part of effort in implementing “Initiativefor improving Innovation Capability In Institutions of Higher Education” proposed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. The Centerconsists of four platforms, namely Basic Theory and Common Technology, High Efficient Water Use in Irrigation Agriculture, High Efficient Water Use in Dryland Farming andHigh Efficient Water Use in Seasonal Water ShortageRegions. Eachplatformengages in specific research directions.

    According to its innovation objectives and overall assignments,the Centeradopts the chief scientist responsibility system and invite applications for32 posts for chief scientistsinvarious directions, and each postoverseesfourto six research scientists andseveral junior research scientists.Selection and recruitment of the chief scientistsof each directionconducted by the employment committee of the Centerwill be in line with the internationalpractice. All the chief scientists shallworkon a full-time basis in the Center, while their official home institution as well as the ownership of their research results willremain unchanged.TheCenterwelcomes national and international application for the chief scientists indifferent directions.

    I.     General Requirements

    Applicants must

    l          HavePh.D. from a prestigious University, are physically healthy, abide by academic honesty, and work on a full-time basis once employed.

    l          Havea senior position (Full Professor) in domestic universityor institutes; Associate Professor or higher in a well-known overseas university, or possess postdoctoral fellow experience.

    l          Havemajor innovative achievements and contributionsin relevantsubject areas, andinternationalreputation in academia.

    III.  Remunerations and support conditions

    ²       All positions are based on annual salary negotiableaccording to internationalstandardsand experience.Normally, annual salaryis 600, 000-800, 000 RMB for the chief scientists, 400, 000-600, 000 RMB for the research scientist, and 200, 000-400, 000 RMB for junior research scientists.

    ²       All positions are provided with Laboratory, research Infrastructure.

    ²       Rental housing will be available

    ²       Otherremunerations are in accordance with nationalpolicies.
