10月31日，美国前农业部副部长任筑山先生来院访问。

     李华副校长、王华院长对任先生再次来院表示欢迎！王华院长向任先生介绍了学院的发展情况，希望任先生为学院的人才引进、联合培养博士等工作提供更多指导的帮助和帮助。

     访问期间，宋西德书记陪同任先生考察了我院葡萄基地，参观杨凌现代农业示范园区。

 

     附：任筑山（JEN, Joseph）先生简介

 

JEN, Joseph

        Dr. Joseph Jen is Dean Emeritus of College of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, California Polytechnic State University and the North America Editor of the scientific journal, Food Control. From 2001 to 2006, he was the Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics of the US Department of Agriculture. Before that, he was the Dean of Agriculture at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA from 1992 to 2001. He also worked at University of Georgia, Campbell Soup Company, Michigan State University and Clemson University. He has a PhD in Comparative Biochemistry from University of California at Berkeley, a MS from Washington State University, a MBA from Southern Illinois University and a BS from National Taiwan University. He is a widely known scientist and administrator, and has many scientific publications including two books. He has received many honors including being the Fellow of Institute of Food Technologists, and the International Union of Food Science and Technology. He is a honorary professor of China Agricultural University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is also the co-Chair of the Food Safety Committee of the International Union of Food Science and Technology. He was instrumental in the formation of several Joint Sino-US Cooperative Research Centers including the soil erosion control center at Yangling. In recent years, he has assisted to organize several international forum on food safety in China.
